What is the Northgate STEM Academy?
The Northgate STEM Academy is designed to provide Northgate students with advanced opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The courses offered in the Northgate STEM Academy focus on empowering students with 21st century learning skills to prepare them for a future career in a STEM related profession. Emphasis on authentic, real-world problem solving in a cross curricular collaborative environment is integrated throughout the 4 year program.
The Northgate STEM Academy will engage students in a rigorous 4 year program that allows students to accelerate their studies and earn credits in math and science beyond the typical Northgate graduate. Below are sample courses of study. Students have flexibility in their course choices to include electives like the Fine Arts or other areas. Students must complete 60% of the STEM coursework (including AP courses or Dual Enrollment courses) to graduate as a Northgate STEM Scholar.
